Meet Your Provider
Ekara Wafer-Mendenhall is a highly qualified Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner with an extensive 20 years in healthcare. Her focus is providing compassionate and affordable healthcare services to her community. She is a native of Homer, Louisiana graduating at the top of her class from Homer High School in 2002. She went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology as well as Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, while graduating with honors from Grambling State University. However, she wasn’t done there. After working as a registered nurse for 5 years, she decided to go back to school to pursue a Master’s Degree in Nursing and became a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner in 2014. She is dedicated to the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of her patients. Because of this she decided to pursue a certification in Mental Health at Herzing University and became a Board
Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in 2023. She is also a
member of both the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the
Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners.
